New Photo of Geoffrey Platts - 1990...
 ~ ~ PHOTO CAPTION ~ ~

This photo of Geoffrey was taken in the fall of 1990 at his beloved cabin.  My wife and I had been invited to the cabin for a visit and lunch of  Geoffrey's famous beans and tortillas cooked over an open fire. After our meal we spent the afternoon in a very animated conversation covering many topics including his efforts to promote Desert preservation.

As everyone who knew him knows Geoffrey was a captivating speaker, and he kept us delightfully entertained with his stories and good-natured wit. At one point in the conversation he paused, for just an instant, reflecting on the topic under discussion. It was at that moment this photo was taken. This is how I remember him...a tireless, dedicated, and at times controversial champion of the Earth.
